CPSO ARRESTS MAN FOR VEHICLE BURGLARY & THEFTS

Lake Charles, LA –

 

On December 12, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Vehicle Crimes Investigative Unit detectives were dispatched in reference to several vehicle burglaries occurring in the Moss Bluff area. 

           

During the initial investigation, detectives learned several vehicles were burglarized and two firearms, along with credit cards, gift cards, and cash were taken.  Detectives reviewed video surveillance and observed two suspects committing the burglaries and thefts.  After further investigation, detectives were able to identify a suspect vehicle.  Detectives were also able to identify one of the suspects as Cotrellis L. Henry, 21, Lake Charles.

           

The following day, December 13, a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle, at which time deputies made contact with Henry.  During a probable cause search of the vehicle deputies located one of the stolen firearms.  Henry was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 4 counts of simple burglary; 3 counts of theft less than $1,000; and 2 counts of theft of a firearm.  Judge Tony Fazzio set his bond at $126,500.

           

The investigation is ongoing.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged.   A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
